Learn To Drive The School Bus- Fall Class

Jeff Davis Parish School Board will host a pre-service training and behind-the-wheel training for new substitute and activity bus drivers. The training will be held at the School Board Office on the dates below at 203 East Plaquemine in Jennings. Completing this course is required by DOE and Jeff Davis Parish for all persons who want to become a certified Louisiana bus driver. Please call Mrs. Lelia Arceneaux, Transportation Secretary, at 824-2003 if you are interested in participating in this course and she will give you the application and let you know the beginning steps. Louisiana Caring Communities Youth Survey

During the period of October 31st - November 30th, the 2018 Louisiana Caring Communities Youth Survey will be conducted throughout the state for students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12. The survey will gather information needed to plan important prevention and intervention programs to combat such problems as alcohol and other drug use and violence in our schools and communities. The survey is being offered to public, private, and charter schools in the state every two years.The 2016 survey results and the 2018 Survey Questions are available for viewing by clicking by the heading.

Flu Facts and the Dangers of HPV

On behalf of the Louisiana Office of Public Health Immunization program, the Department wants to share the Flu Facts Sheet and HPV Fact Sheet with parents. Both documents contain information regarding the dangers of the flu and HPV, how students, parents, and school staff can practice prevention, and the importance of vaccination.Please contact if there are any questions.

Pursuant to L.R.S. 42:11, et seq., a public meeting will be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Law including allowing a public comment period before taking a vote, R.S. 42:14(D), to levy the ad valorem millage rates for the 2018 tax year, including those taxing districts that have renewed an existing millage for an additional 10-year period. The meeting will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the Board Room of the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board located at 203 E. Plaquemine Street, Jennings, Louisiana. As required by R.S. 42:19.1, this notice giving date, time, place and subject matter of public meeting to adopt the annual millage rate(s) of this district was published in the official journal and announced during the course of a regularly scheduled meeting no more than 60 days nor less than 30 days prior to the School Board adoption of the ad valorem tax millages for the 2018 tax year.

Amy Gobert Named 2018 Volunteer of the Year

A+PEL’s Volunteer of the Year ceremony was held on June 14, 2018 at the Boudreaux’s Catering Venue in Baton Rouge. Twelve current and former educators, parents, grandparents, and mentors were selected as State Volunteer of the Year Finalists. They were recognized for their dedication to both students and teachers in Louisiana’s public schools. Recognized as finalist from Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vermilion Parishes was Amy Gobert of Jefferson Davis Parish. Mrs. Gobert was also selected as 2018 Volunteer of the Year for the State of Louisiana
