Jefferson Davis Parish School Closure Updates
Message from Superintendent, Kirk Credeur
March 23, 2020
As you are aware, the Governor’s office issued a stay-at-home order yesterday. This means he is asking us to stay at home unless you are going out for an essential task (groceries, pharmacy, gas, food, doctor, etc… Louisiana has one of the fastest growth rates of confirmed cases in the world citing a recent ULL study. Louisiana ranks third in the nation per capita cases of infected citizens. Louisiana has 837 confirmed cases and 20 deaths as of yesterday. This is a very real concern that must be taken seriously.
Staff at the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board is minimal at this time. Payroll will run as usual at the end of the month, and employees that have direct deposit will not incur any delay. Employees that do not have direct deposit will have their checks mailed to them.
At the governor’s request and our local school board’s request, we will continue to implement the child nutrition feeding program until we are directed to discontinue.
Please be safe. We look forward to returning to school and normalcy as planned on April 20, 2020. We will continue to post updates as we receive them.
