Senior News

Senior Ads on sale January 6, 2010 until March 1, 2010:

Ad sizes and prices are as follows:

1/8 page $30
¼ page $40
½ page $60
Full page $100

·         An envelope with your name and Senior Ads on the front must be turned in to Mrs. Sonnier or a member of the yearbook staff.

·         Inside the envelope you must state the name of the student and the size of the ad requested, along with payment, pictures or format you would like used on your ad.  OUR STAFF CAN DESIGN THE AD FOR YOU—JUST LET US KNOW. You may include a CD of pictures.

·         Copies of pictures or newspaper clippings are not acceptable for publication.

·         Digital images are preferred.

Digital images can be emailed to wendy.sonnier@jdpsbk12.org or included on a CD in the envelope.

Seniors who have at least a "B" grade point average and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport are eligible to apply for the Wendy's Heisman Scholarship.  The deadline is October 1st.  Apply online at www.wendysheisman.com.

The First Freedom Student Competition is a national essay contest, offering high-school students an opportunity to compete for a $3,000, $1,500, and $750 award.  The competition is open to 9th-12th grade students.  Students may go to http://www.firstfreedom.org/education/students.html to apply.  The deadline is Monday, November 24, 2008.

SOWELA is offering the new Bank Teller Training Program.  Financial aid is available to persons desiring participation in the program.  Funds are also avaibalbe through the State of Louisiana Incumbent Worker Training program.  Registration is underway now.  Please contact William Mayo at SOWELA at william.mayo@sowela.edu for details.

MSU Early Admission English 101, Math 113 and American History 201 students are entitled to a McNeese student I.D. and student prices for admission to football games.  The picture I.D. is made in the University Police Station, 4314 Ryan Street (the same side of the street as McDonald's and Smoothie King).

Louisiana Week at Tulane will be Sept. 8-12.  Seniors interested in attending on of these days may call 1-800-873-WAVE to register.
