FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE II:
This is a more advanced level of the areas that are taught in Home
Economics I. A student must have passed Home Economics I. to enroll in
this course.

ADULT RESPONSIBILITY:
This is a 1/2 credit course. It is taught for one semester 1/2 of the
school year. Personal finance, care of the home, management of
resources, consumer literacy and parenting are taught.

HOUSING:
This is a comprehensive semester course that includes instruction in
housing choices, economics of housing, housing management, home
planning, and housing trends. It is recommended for eleventh and twelfth
grade students. There are no pre-requisites.

PARENTHOOD EDUCATION:
This course is a 1/2 credit course. It is taught for one semester or 1/2
of the school year and concentrates on child development, special needs,
and competent parenthood.
Pro
Start I & II:
ProStart is the career-building
program for high school students who are interested in culinary arts and
foodservice management. Over two challenging and rewarding years,
ProStart students experience classroom study , mentored work
experiences, and local and national competitions. Mostly importantly,
ProStart students grow into the leaders our industry needs.

NUTRITION AND FOODS:
This course is a 1/2 credit course. It is taught for one semester or 1/2
of the school year. Only juniors and seniors may take this course. Basic
nutrition information, planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals
for home or entertaining are taught. |

CLOTHING AND TEXTILES:
This course is a 1/2 credit course. It is taught for one semester or 1/2
of the school year. Only juniors and seniors may take this course.
Textile identification, fabric construction, wardrobe planning and
clothing construction are taught in this course. This is a school-based
enterprise course. Students learn to run a monogramming business.
