PROMOTION AND RETENTION
The following policy applies to students in grades 3-6 including exceptional
students in specially designed regular instructional programs and
non/limited English-proficient students.
The School Building Level Committee (SBLC) is designated by the principal to
review student information and make placement decisions.

Achieve a D (.8) in four of the five major subjects. At least two quality
points must be earned during the second semester, one of which must be
earned during the fifth or sixth weeks period. If the two quality points
have not been met the second half of the year, an F is recorded for the
session.
·
Demonstrate content standards as defined by the comprehensive curriculum and
grade level expectations.
·
Successful scoring on the LEAP/ILEAP standardized test(s).
·
In order to be promoted to the fifth grade, students are required to
minimally score basic and/or approaching basic in the ELA and Math sections.
