DISCIPLINE
In order to guarantee all students in our school a climate conducive to
learning, NO student will be allowed to prevent a teacher from teaching or
classmates from learning.
It is the professional belief of the staff and administration at Jennings
Elementary School that our disciplinary plan will assist in providing a safe
and positive environment for all students. Please see the discipline insert
in this handbook.
The following inappropriate behaviors are strictly prohibited on campus:

Fighting, instigating or encouraging fighting, threatening and/or hitting
others
·
Disrespect for authority or other students
·
Sexual harassment, obscene or indecent behavior (pictures, gestures,
language, or actions)
·
Knives, sharp objects, or anything constructed as a weapon
·
Acts of vandalism or theft
·
Unsafe behavior which could result in harm to oneself or others
·
Use of or possession of tobacco, narcotics (or look-a-like), or intoxicating
substances
·
Operation of beepers, pagers, or similar electronic devices
Rules will be enforce through counseling, detention, loss of privileges,
conference, suspension, corporal punishment and expulsion.
The administration also recognizes that good behavior and discipline of
students are essential prerequisites to academic learning; therefore, the
administration seeks to reinforce positive behavior through the utilization
of the following strategies:

·
Extended recess
·
Special recognition incentives
