ATTENDANCE
A. No child can
be expected to reach his/her potential unless they attend school regularly.
B. The
following are District Attendance and Policy Regulations:
i.
Students are not
allowed to miss more than 12 days per school year (6 per semester).
ii. Students must
be in attendance 94% of the time.
iii.
Parental/medical excuses must be submitted to the school's attendance clerk
within 5 days of the students' return to school.
Lawful Absences

Death in the
family.

Extended
Personal Physical or Emotional Illness

Extended
Hospital Stay/Recuperation From Accident

Extended
Contagious Disease
-
Observance of
Special and Recognized Holidays of Student's Faith

Principal/District Personnel Authorization
Consequences
-
3, 5, 10, and
15 unlawful absences are considered to be truancy.

Student and
parent names will be presented to the District Attorney by the Child
Welfare and Attendance Officer upon recommendation by the
teacher/principal.

Parents/guardians and the student will be subpoenaed to appear in court.

Fines will be
imposed.
