Counselor's Corner

Hi!  My name is Stephanie Reed and I am the Guidance Counselor here at Jennings Elementary. 

An elementary counselor has many duties to carry out during the school year.  Some of those duties are Red Ribbon Week (Drug Awareness Week) which takes place in October; The school counselor coordinates the Student of the Year process; Screens students who have been referred to the School Building Level Committee for learning, behavior, or health problems as well as screening those students who may qualify for the Gifted Program; Serves as the school test coordinator for ILEAP and LEAP testing in the spring as well as who qualifies for LEAP tutoring in the fall; and throughout the year  individual students who are in need of counseling.
